Data Scientist (Contractor)

What would you do at Litmus?

As an Data Scientist, you will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX Designers and Software Engineers to develop and refine data-driven predictive models that power Litmus’ products and services, improves data technology infrastructure, and communicates ongoing research and analysis. In this role, you will define and deliver key product insights to end users, explore new data sources and regularly work with customized data sets.

It is a full-time contract for 3 months with a potential to extend up to a year.

Responsibilities:

  • Process large data sets and provide quality checks/analysis following established best practices with limited guidance.
  • Manage and improve complex computational systems for processing and scoring data.
  • Conduct data experiments to verify assumptions and hypotheses.
  • Run existing algorithms, develop and improve tools for investigative and analytical workflows.
  • Score and analyze email specific data and present your findings.
  • Work with technical and business personnel to ensure successful outcomes for customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or similar field)
  • Minimum 2+ year of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scala.
  • Strong experience in data extraction, data manipulation, and data analysis.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to pursue self-directed data analysis paths.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Python, AWK, and SQL.
  • Experience with data systems such as Hadoop, Hive, Amazon RedShift and MySQL.
  • Experience with statistical or scientific computing packages.
  • Experience with data visualization technologies such as Google Analytics, D3 and Tableau.
